Rachel Murphy expressed his deep concern about the traumatizing experience that Toto (his five-pound dog) went through at the weekend. Rachel claims that a groomer taped Toto r’s mouth shut when it was bitten. This resulted in the dog looking bloody and being distressed.
Rachel told the story, "My puppy was in obvious distress. What I originally thought was an actual muzzle, turned out to actually be tape. Toto r's paws were visibly red and injured, with the toenails cut too close to the paw, which likely provoked his biting reaction."
Wow! My Dog - a mobile salon for pets - employed the groomer to perform these actions.
Rachel rushed Toto to a veterinarian immediately for medical treatment. He joined a number of others in accusing Wow! My Dog for animal abuse. San Mateo has launched an investigation to determine if the company is guilty of animal cruelty.
Rachel described what he saw. "I noticed injuries near the joints, in the neck area, and around the genital areas." These cuts were so bad that they bled."
Marianna De las Vegas, a customer of Wow! My Dog, posted a review on Yelp, detailing how his pets were returned to him injured or unwell. A Snapchat video captured by a customer showed a dog with obvious pain. He claimed that the groomer had forcedly inserted a towel into its ear.
Bad Review
In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, Wow! My Dog wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. Rachel said, "Juliann told me click here that tapering the mouth shut was a normal, acceptable method. He claimed it is better than using a muzzle which, according to him, can be harmful for dogs. He mentioned that he used the same method for his own dogs.
When contacted by Gate News, Wow! My Dog answered the phone but promptly handed it over to a woman who stated they were investigating the allegations. When asked about Puppy, she immediately said that it was an independent entity, before abruptly terminating the call.
